Have you ever done something stupid because of something that happened to you? Through Scott Fitzgerald's novel, The Great Gatsby, we see through the eyes of those who are alone, self-reliant, and unrealistic. A novel about how money, love, loneliness, and the uneasy ties between them played a major role in the 1920s. Seen through the eyes of Nick Carraway, Jay Gatsby's life unfolds before us and we are transported into a new perspective of life before we were born. The life of Jay Gatsby is presented to us in an extravagant manner that ultimately tells how he comes across his unfortunate demise. Money, lust, revenge and endless parties can never truly ease the lonely pain of a broken and lost heart. The less important point is made by Jay Gatsby's father, Henry Gatz. In life we do or say things that cannot be taken back, Mr. Gatz is a great example of this. Jay's father talks about Jay's childhood and how he never really told Jay he was right. Jay's parents couldn't afford to live an extravagant life, so he worked to afford this good life.....
