Same-sex marriage is the union of two people of the same biological sex who live together as a family. Today, sixteen countries have legalized them, mostly European countries, while two other countries have regional laws for them, such as Mexico and the United States, seventeen states have legalized them. Same-sex marriage should be legalized because same-sex couples are also citizens who deserve to have the same rights enshrined in the constitution as any other citizen. The legal status of same-sex marriage has been questioned by conservative groups, who have argued that "marriage" is the union between a man and a woman, that changing it would distort its true meaning, and that same-sex relationships are immoral. . and a sin according to religious views.
