    NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. NASA is a United States government agency responsible for science and technology related to airspace. The space age began in 1957 with the launch of the Soviet satellite Sputnik, and NASA was established in 1958. NASA was established to oversee United States space exploration and aeronautical research. NASA's goal today is to reach new heights and reveal the unknown so that what we do and learn benefits all humanity. NASA mainly sends astronauts into orbit to conduct scientific research, and many other things today help scientists better understand space. Satellites help scientists learn more about Earth and probes help study the solar system and beyond. Today, NASA is working on a program to send humans to Mars and beyond. Some of NASA's facilities are Facilities IV and V, Michoud Assembly Facility, Wallops Flight Facility, and White Sands Test Facility. President Dwight D.
