Alexander Hamilton was the architect of the Federalist Papers and much of America's financial structure. It was only reluctantly that he was admitted to the reign of great American thinkers. His importance as a leading nationalist and financial visionary in the post-revolutionary period was truly discovered in the mid-20th century. Historical evidence indicates that he is a Christian and says: "I have carefully examined the evidence of the Christian religion, and if I were sworn on its authenticity, I would without hesitation give my verdict in its favor." I can prove its truth as clearly as any proposition ever submitted to the mind of man. ("Alexander Hamilton") Historians have begun to reassess his success. He is best known as an astute advocate of a strong central government for his composition of the Federalist Papers which were used to persuade Americans to ratify the new Constitution. His other accomplishments make his entire political career difficult to understand. He was criticized as much for his selfishness as for his intelligence and determination.....
