  • Essay / Holidays in Albania - 1192

According to My Travel Guide, Albania is ranked fourth among ten places to visit in Eastern Europe. There are three types of vacations in this Mediterranean country: winter, summer and cultural. The ideal places to spend your winter vacation are the Albanian Alps. They are located in the north of Albania, where tourists have discovered amazing mountains, landscapes with secluded valleys full of charm and ancient traditions. The Valbona Valley is the first picturesque landscape to visit. As you walk through this valley, you will hear the loud gurgling of the water. The village located next to Valbona is Theth. It is one of the most charming villages in northern Albania due to its pristine nature and small wooden houses. Moreover, Theth is the most suitable place to go camping with your friends, especially for tourists who love risky hiking adventures in Valbona and Theth mountains. They are geographically and physically suited to hiking. In addition, visitors also practice canoeing. The Grunas Canyon in Theth is a challenge for international and Albanian tourists who are passionate about canyons. Yet the best thing about northern Albania is that it is rarely visited. Therefore, its nature is completely pristine, ready to satisfy all its visitors. If you are looking for a summer vacation rather than a winter vacation, the seaside of western Albania or eastern Lake Ohrid would be suitable alternatives. My home country has a beautiful seaside that stretches along the western part of Albania, from Shkodra to Saranda. You can choose the type of sea you prefer, either a shallow and sandy sea or a deep and salty sea. The first is the Adriatic, and it is in the middle of paper...... The Albanian city to visit is Korca. This town is located next to Pogradeci in southeastern Albania. Albanians consider Korca to be the little Albanian Paris, as its citizens are quite romantic. The village of Voskopoja is part of this town. Surprisingly, it was once a shopping center and the “headquarters” of the first university in the Balkans. This magnificent eastern village is “also rich in churches” (Neil Olsen 44). To conclude, Albania remains an attractive vacation spot in both winter and summer due to its pristine nature. This small country located between East and West offers a perfect blend of Eastern and Western cultures. Therefore, it is worth spending a cultural vacation in Albania. Lord Byron once wrote: “Albania…. . . is a rarely visited country. . .although they abound in more natural beauty than the classical regions of Greece” (quoted in Olsen 12).
