Ukraine and the European Union. Currently, Ukraine will sign an association agreement with the European Union. According to Ukrainian policy, Ukraine has fulfilled all the conditions set by EU officials. Ukraine plays an important role in relations between Russia and Europe. Global trade and future financial crises are also linked to this integration process. The EU, primarily Germany, is trying to attract Ukraine into its zone of influence and begin to close the country's industrial enterprises, as was previously done in new democracies. Today's Germany is the locomotive of the European economy. By almost single-handedly resolving their financial policies, the Germans have enormous leverage over the rest of Europe. On the other hand, the United States is also interested in this integration process. The long-term objective of the United States is: Ukraine – NATO member and military base in Sevastopol.
