Acting Together with KindnessA random act of kindness, by definition, means acting unsystematically in goodwill without any expectation of return or benefit to oneself. According to the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation (RAKF), a “kindness movement” is underway. The main goal of this movement is to help create a better world by raising awareness and spreading acts of kindness. (Random) Scott Adams, creator of the comic strip Dilbert, proclaims that he doesn't believe an act of kindness can be too small. Adams points out that every act of kindness creates a never-ending ripple. (Random) Adams' view coincidentally corresponds to Newton's third law of motion. According to Tom Henderson, creator of the Physics Classroom website, Newton's third law states: "A force is a push or pull that acts on an object as a result of its interaction with another object. Forces result from interactions! (Henderson) In other words, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction; whether good or bad. Therefore, the act of kindness, when implemented, is the “force” that sets off a chain reaction with immeasurable positive scope; an encouragement that consumes the recipient(s) and then spreads to the author of the benevolent action(s); including all participants. For this random act of kindness, project the specified requirements for a group to first choose an organization. Next, conduct research to provide a brief history and explanation of the services provided. Next, volunteer on site and interview staff and those served; to help identify a need the agency is currently facing. Finally, collaboratively compile a solution proposal for the identified need. First...... middle of paper...... difference. In conclusion, this proposal identifies the dire need for volunteers at the local RM HHI ReStore. It was concluded that this is the least invasive solution, but also the most effective for everyone involved. It only takes one visit to NCC to see the breadth of age, talent, majors and resources available on campus. This is a multi-faceted plan to inspire civic spirit on NCC’s campus and in the community at large. This is also a great opportunity for the NCC student body to make an effective difference not only to the RM HHI ReStore, but also to help start a volunteer continuum that has the potential to continue for many years. many years. “Habitat for Humanity International”.
