It discusses the relationship between families, parenting style, how experiences of separation and loss, and the quality of the relationship of attachment were examined in a group of homeless youth. The article examined two groups, residential youth and a large control group of youth from the “standard” population. It also provided information on the influence of social support and this was obtained. After examining both groups, the results showed that growing up in a family with divorced parents, or a lack of parental responsiveness and emotional support are significant factors in homelessness.
