Accuracy of the pianistRacism, persecution and finally extermination; These were the terrible things that Gypsies, Russians, Jehovah's Witnesses, homosexuals and Jews had to face during World War II. Hitler took power on January 30, 1933, becoming Prime Minister of Germany (Judy L. Hasday p. 12). By 1945, the Germans, or Nazis, had killed nearly two out of three European Jews as part of the “Final Solution,” the Nazi policy to murder Europe's Jews (US Memorial Museum). More than six million Jewish men, women and children were wiped out (Judy L. Hasday p. 12). German authorities exterminated Jews and many others considered inferior to Aryans. Hitler believed that anyone who was not Aryan was inferior to his pure race. He believed in a race comprising light skin, blond hair and blue eyes, a pure German blood. Those who did not meet these standards were considered a threat to the world. The Holocaust was their “final solution” (Gerald Reitlinger 1953). In the movie The Pianist, Wladyslaw Szpilman and all Jews were separated from everything they had to share with the Germans, including restaurants, bars, and simple things like sidewalks. When Hitler came to power, he ordered a boycott of all Jewish stores. This made it more difficult for Jews to survive. Then the authorities took everything the Jews owned, even their coins were worth less than a single piece of metal. But why would someone stay in a place where they are not wanted? The Pianist is a historically correct film because it depicts the cruelty that took place during the holocaust; it showed how families struggled together to survive in concentration camps. The Pianist is the true story of a Polish Jew, ...... middle of paper ...... society, anyone who was not Aryan was inferior to their pure race. This breed which had the characteristics of light skin, blond hair and blue eyes was a purebred German. Overall, this movie should be shown to students so that they can learn many lessons from it. Teach them a lesson about respecting others. So anyone who has disagreements with other people can understand that not everyone thinks the same thing and that people need to learn to accept others. No two people think the same way. The question is: why would anyone stay in a place where they are not wanted? This question may have more than one answer, but it is certain that hope was never lost. Today's society is more open-minded but we still have to learn many things in life. This film is historically accurate because it is based on a real event. This movie was amazing, everyone should watch it.
