    Reflecting on my initial questions and concerns about being accepted, I am sure that parents who come to my school and class must have the same feelings… Will did they watch? Will they understand? Did they dress properly? Today we were treated with so much respect and kindness. I didn't feel left out, but at the same time I felt special and cared for. Now my question is, “Can I show the same respect and concern to those who are different from me?” » Another thought I had is that I want to be a help like Aldo was to me today. I think one of the best rewards of working with ESOL students will be knowing that I have helped them understand and learn. If only for a few hours, I felt a small glimpse of what it would be like to be “the other.” I know we don't all have to be the same to love each other and work together. A smile means the same thing in all cultures! I think I got to see the truth of that today. It's definitely an experience I won't forget and I'm grateful to have been able to
