    Article 1This article talks about the effects of media exposure on adolescents and the violence that this can lead to. Using social conflict theory, he presents the media as having a harmful impression on today's children. The article shows that crime statistics have decreased the number of arrests for violent crimes committed by juvenile offenders (Fowler, 2002). The article also shows how the APA is partnering with federal programs to help resolve these harmful effects described by the media. The article shows that the media is responsible for the social conflict these adolescents face. The APA and other organizations and the federal government are fighting this problem from all angles (Fowler, 2002). Although the article discusses certain statistics, it may inflate them by not including a breakdown of violent crimes committed. The article could also have indicated the extent to which this implementation has had in resolving these effects on young offenders. It could also have indicated which media outlets supported their campaign and which did not. Media influences people of all ages, but the violence depicted in it has detrimental effects on young people because it desensitizes them before they have a chance to fully understand what they are watching. Statistics on video games, movies, and television should have been included in this article to give the reader a better understanding of which sources contribute the most to this problem.
