  • Essay / Homicide Attacks in the United States

IntroductionWhen it comes to homicidal incidents, the United States of America is among the top ten countries in the world rankings. The national survey found that approximately 10,000 members were murdered by firearms and another 40,000 members were disabled each year. Generally, the term homicide refers to the killing of an individual by another individual. In this regard, certain factors play a vital role that causes a great threat of homicidal attacks. The basic factors behind homicides can be age, race, gender and living in poor areas could be some of the reasons that increase the threat of homicidal attacks. Typically, threats of homicide are carried out by the group of members. Homicides are classified into several categories, including street homicides and home homicides. Street homicides refer to the threat caused by strangers. Home homicides refer to the threat caused by relatives or friends. Say no to plagiarism. We considered that the dataset that was uploaded to the Kaggle source dates from 2017. The dataset that was considered is a complement to the “Murder Accountability” project. In our project, we have comprehensive information on involuntary homicides that occurred in the United States of America. In this dataset, the Federal Bureau of Investigation compiled reports on homicide incidents that occurred across America between 1980 and 2014. In this report, the data collected is based on approximately 22,000 homicide incidents that did not been described. In this dataset, we consider attributes such as age, gender, ethnicity, and race of the victims and the killer. We also considered certain attributes such as the relationship and weapons used between victims and perpetrators. In the information graphics, the graphics used are: Different types of weapons used by perpetrators by location and race. Type of crime solved based on the incident that occurred. Homicide attacks by age of victim. Percentage of homicides in the United States. Analysis of homicide incidents. occurred depending on the state and was resolved.Gender-based homicide attacks in different states of America.Annual analysis of the total number of homicide incidents occurred according to the age of the perpetrator.Incidents homicides by ethnicity and age of the perpetrator. In our project, the dataset we considered is based on a report on homicide incidents occurring during the period 1980-2014 and it was uploaded in 2017. The first step is to download the dataset from the Kaggle source and create a visualization using the Tableau Public Software version. The next step is to create multiple visualizations based on the metrics and dimensions provided in the dataset. For the complete process, the tools that were used to create the information graphics are Visme and Tableau Public software. We can create many information graphics through Visme software using tools such as templates, photos, icons and shapes. Visme software is a widely used software for creating information graphics through which we can construct a story. In this we upload a background to the block page and also add avisualization that we have integrated into the Tableau software. We can also use the icons and shape tools by dragging and dropping them along adding the particular text. We can use some icons and shapes from the software or also download them from the Internet. Some of the images uploaded online can also be edited in Photoshop software. When three quarters of the information graphics are created, there may be some images or visualizations whose size could not be set. so we finally add the image to the Visme library and can later add it to the canvas to resize the visualization to the expected size. The following procedure involves resizing images using Microsoft Paint software. From the information graphs, we try to predict all the homicidal attacks that took place in the different states of America. In these information graphs, we try to build the story based on the percentage of homicide attacks that occurred based on factors such as ethnicity, age, gender, race, incidents and solved crimes . The first visualization considered is based on the different types of weapons used by killers depending on their age and race. In this, the weapon used is the pistol of the black race. Next comes the white race who also predominantly use handguns. The weapon used by any race is suffocation with an unknown race. The second visualization represents the type of crime and is solved based on the incident that occurred. In this we have two categories of crimes, one is negligent manslaughter and the other is murder. We have the highest percentage of solved murders here. And we have a lower percentage for negligence where the criminal history was still pending. The third donut chart represents homicides that occurred based on the age of the victim. From there, it was clearly explained that, depending on the state, the severity of the homicides that took place depended on the age of the victim. The fourth visualization represents the analysis of homicide incidents occurring by state and resolved. . On the basis of state, the severity of crime rate varies from state to state in the United States of America, where the crime rate for homicides is most commonly observed. There are also some states where the crime rate of homicides has been resolved. The following visualization is the tree map that represents gender-based homicides in different states of America. Here in the state of California, manslaughter is relatively more common among men than among women, where most men were killed or disabled in the attacks. The lowest rate of homicides was against women in the state of North Dakota. From Gantt's perspective, this is clearly an annual analysis of the total number of homicides occurring based on the age of the perpetrator. In 1981, homicides were relatively numerous depending on the age of the perpetrators. By 1993, manslaughter was to some extent controlled. By the end of 2016, homicide incidents were significantly lower. The final representation consists of stacked bars that represent incidents of homicide that occurred by ethnicity and age of the perpetrator. Here, there are fewer crimes recorded for the Hispanic ethnicity. More and more homicidal attacks have taken place against an unknown ethnic group. The main intention of the graphic design is to make the public understand the impact of homicide incidents on the United States of America and the severity of the violence. I used the.
