IntroductionThe Protection of State Information Bill is a controversial bill passed in early 2010 by the South African government , but was quickly recalled for analysis. OrganizationsRight2KnowRight2Know is an activist company founded in opposition to the secrecy bill. It was founded at the end of August 2010 in Cape Town. It opposes the deterioration of human rights around the world and presents itself as a progressive force that carries the hopes of many. The organization rated the secrecy bill on its seven-point freedom test. Several concerns have been raised regarding the bill, and the main concerns can be seen below. In its report, Right2Know raises concerns that it is too easy for the minister to expand the number of organizations affected by the bill and that this could extend beyond people's safety. the state, as the government says, it would be limited to that. They also claim that the minister responsible for the scope of the bill could benefit from censure, allowing the bill to be expanded on an unnecessary scale. It also seems, according to this organization, that information can be too easily classified as “top secret”. They also point out that the bill introduces easy exceptions to the South African National Archives Act 1996, which states that information cannot be kept classified for more than twenty years.
