    On the most recent list published by Reporters Without Borders in 2010, Norway was tied for first place among countries with the most freedom of expression (Freedom of Expression Index). the press 2010). Since Reporters Without Borders draws up a list of countries, ranking them from one to one hundred and seventy-eight, for the countries with the best freedom of expression; Norway has tied for first place every year since 2002. It was not until 2006 that Norway lost its ranking and fell to a tie for sixth place. Despite falling to sixth place in 2006 (Press Freedom Index 2010), according to information collected by Reporters Without Borders, Norway is one of the best countries in the world in terms of freedom of expression. Looking at the country's demographics, what other countries perceive Norway to be like and why and how Norway has become one of the countries with the best freedom of speech, it is easy to understand why Norway ranks so highly ranking with Reporters Without Borders. The Norwegian Constitution was adopted on May 17, 1814. The First Amendment states that "Norway is 'a free, independent, inexpedient and inalienable kingdom'" (The Constitution - Full Text). Since the creation of this constitution, Norway has become one of the freest countries in the world. A country that lacks diversity within its population may allow for a more peaceful community. A country that has a lot of diversity could create tension between the people of that country. Therefore, freedom of expression may have to be limited due to an increase in crime due to excess freedom.
