    There are many social networks that have created vast connections between people in recent years. Since the inception of social media, countless people have started joining it due to its growing popularity and free cost of downloading. These networks help create a virtual realm allowing users to be themselves or whoever they want to be, at their discretion. Escaping all the troubles and sorrows that the real world has in store for you is only temporary until your next connection. The most common question debated and one you should continually ask yourself is: “Is social media a good thing or a bad thing?” I think social media has a negative influence on people. . I think there is a need for caution for people using social media because of the negative ramifications that come with it after long-term use. You can access Twitter, Facebook and other social media with just a tap of your finger. Social media has some positive influences to offer; people can develop “lifelong relationships” and become more cyber-social, which could eventually break the fear barrier for introverted individuals (Taylor). For others, it seems that we have placed a greater importance on social media in our daily lives. We wake up in the morning and the first thing we do is check our Twitter or Facebook. Relying on these social networks to maintain balance in our lives has become more of a nuisance than a solution to our social problems. The more we use these social media each day, the more we continue to render ourselves helpless in the face of the harsh reality of the real world in which we live.
