The civil rights movement was different because instead of armed revolts and battles of thousands, the civil rights movement waged war with words and protests. This type of revolution in itself was revolutionary. The MRC is inspired by Mahatma Ghandi's approach to Indian independence. The movement, led by Martin Luther King Junior, was defended by nonviolence. MLK was aware that his faction's protests would only vilify the MRC.
