Essay / Drones - Unmanned Aerial Vehicles - 1026
Drones are called drones, also known as unmanned aerial vehicles. These are new aircraft that do not need a human operator on board to operate the aircraft. Human operators are on the ground, usually at a military base, with the entire unmanned aircraft system: the aircraft, the personnel, and the digital network (Thompson). The main characteristics are the size of the drones, the equipment installed, their potential use and how they are controlled. The size of drones can be as large as a jet or as small as an insect. They can have predefined flight plans or be controlled by remote controls (Thompson). Drones are used for surveillance purposes, but they can also be used as weapons. Drones are the newest and most effective weapons the United States has used overseas in military zones, particularly in the Middle East. As the United States slowly withdraws from this region, questions arise and some are still waiting for answers: What are drones? Can these ideal machines be converted for home use? What implications will this have for people’s security and rights? These questions lead to unmarked territory. Lawyers, legislators, and the military have different ways of changing laws and regulations to get what they want, which raises concerns among the general public. The problems and questions raised around drones are discussed in hundreds of articles. Articles from the Washington Times, New York Times and Global Research highlight the legal aspects and issues. These articles present several facts and some opinions on the idea of the arrival of drones on American soil. Shaun Waterman, a writer for the Washington Times, wrote: “Drones over the United States are approved by Congress.” Waterman highlights the different contributions that drones would have in middle of paper ......n sentenced to death without due process. It is unfavorable to pilots who “eliminate” targets sometimes without concrete evidence. He considers it unfair to those who die and also to those who take their lives. It's too disconnected from reality, it's too similar to a video game. Representatives say they are trying to quickly draft new laws to present to the FAA and then report that information to Congress.
