The Renaissance was a period of cultural movement and the introduction of cultural heroes, is known as "Renaissance Men". One of these men was Michelangelo Buenarroti. Michelangelo was a world-renowned painter, sculptor, architect and poet, who was of great importance and had a great impact on our modern culture. On March 6, 1475, Leonardo di Buonarrota and Francesca Neri had their second son of five. in the small village of Caprese, Italy. They called him Michelangelo di Lodovivo Buonarroti Simoni. But shortly after his birth, Michelangelo moved to Florence, Italy, with his family. As Michelangelo grew older, his father realized that Michelangelo was not interested in school or the family's financial affairs, and that he much preferred to observe painters in neighboring churches and draw what he saw. At the age of 13, Michelangelo's father allowed him to apprentice with Domenico Ghirlandaio. During his apprenticeship, Michelangelo was exposed to the different artistic techniques of frescoing. After only a year as Ghirlandaio's apprentice, Michelangelo was recommended by Ghirlandaio and given the opportunity to study the classical sculptures in the medical gardens of the palace of Lorenzo the Magnificent. .During his three years within the Medici family, Michelangelo was exposed to Florence's social elite. Michelangelo was also able to study under Bertoldo di Giovanni, which exposed him to many educated poets, scholars, and humanists. After receiving special permission from the Catholic Church, Michelangelo was allowed to study corpses to better understand human anatomy.
