Essay / Who is passionately committed to following Christ?
1. What are you doing that demonstrates a passionate commitment to following Christ? The first step to following Christ is to read the Word of God. Right after my conversion, I was very curious to know more about Jesus and Christianity. So I started reading the Bible, but I understood very well. Then I was told to pray before reading, asking for wisdom. I did it. To my surprise, the Holy Spirit revealed everything to me with clear understanding. The second step is transformation. I have found many things in my life that need to be corrected according to the Bible. The Word of God became for me a mirror reflecting my inner person. As a result, I was completely transformed. I surrender myself to the Lord to shape and form me according to His will. Complete obedience is the third requirement for following Christ. I must fully obey all the “do’s and don’ts” in the Bible and fulfill all righteousness; it's not easy. Sometimes I am moved to do worldly things that are not good in God's eyes. Then I feel like I'm drifting away from the Lord, which is very hard. So quickly I return to Him to ask for forgiveness. Then the Holy Spirit embraces me and refreshes me with his unconditional love. This is all about the relationship between me and my Lord. Now I have to follow in his footsteps in the community. “God is love” (1 John 4:8). He died for me out of love. So the question arises; “Am I living for Him? yes, I have to do it. How? People will perish without knowing the Savior, and I am called to preach the Gospel to the nations in order to win souls for Christ Jesus. Before I was saved, as a doctor, I thought that the medical profession was the best service that could save patients' lives. God taught me that I could not give life to ...... middle of paper ...... God (Ephesians 6:10-18) as a guideline. The spirit of discernment is another wonderful gift that people should not deceive. On the other hand, challenges are not there to be disappointed, but to be strengthened and encouraged. They shape, sharpen and shape our characters. Facing challenges provides the spiritual maturity to handle different types of issues and problems as well as to deal with various people. Isn't it profitable? It is not easy, but I have never faced any challenges during this journey with Jesus Christ. If I am faced with a problem that I have never encountered before, I immediately go to God's Word and find the answer. The throne of grace is always my refuge, and also I make all my decisions on my knees. This is how I manage to save my salvation and keep my life holy while living in this corrupt world. It's nothing else, but by His amazing grace.
