While Jekyll sacrificed himself to end the uncontrollable, Hyde Banner had a different way of dealing with the Hulk. Unlike Jekyll, Banner is in full control of the Hulk when he has not transformed into the Hulk. However, when Banner transforms into the Hulk, he no longer has control of the Hulk. This is why Banner leaves civilization to live alone in the comics so as not to get angry and keep full control of the Hulk. With Banner's control of the Hulk, this makes Hulk even more enraged, leading Hulk to learn how to avoid becoming Banner again. Hulk himself states in the WWH comics when Iron Man calls him Bruce, Hulk responds by saying "The banner is gone, it's just Hulk". Hulk was also able to completely separate himself from Banner, causing the two to live separately and Hulk can freely cause chaos without Banner limiting his power. Banner, at first satisfied with what the Hulk did, soon realized that without limiting the Hulk's power, the Hulk would continue to cause chaos and decided to become one with the Hulk by saying one more times: “I have to live with the curse of the Hulk.
