  • Essay / The Pros and Cons of Harry Potter - 1220

Nowadays, when you want an answer to something, they Google it and don't even think about opening a book. Industries have somehow brainwashed children into believing certain things when in reality, that's not the right way to think. Both Teare and Schlosser offer two different perspectives on how children are enticed to buy something. Schlosser explains that industries use different gimmicks to trick children into buying that particular product, especially to harass parents. If their child wants it, they will most likely be harassed until they buy the product they want. Teare shows a different problem: children no longer focus on reading and acquiring knowledge through textbooks, but only play video games or watch TV. Child consumers influence everything and this will continue as long as companies are fed what they can to sell their products.
