As our reliance on networks increases, our national infrastructure becomes more vulnerable to cyberattacks. Indeed, we rely heavily on networks to communicate, travel, manage our economy and provide government services. This is why cyber intrusions and attacks have increased over the past decade. This increase in cyberattacks is accompanied by the revelation of information that can be used to collect intelligence information; disrupt critical operations and impose high costs on the economy. The only thing the intelligence community can do at this point is prepare the country for future cyberattacks. DHS must recognize and respond to cybersecurity challenges.
