Nuclear Power: The Future Source of Energy America uses a lot of energy to provide electricity to millions of homes and businesses and needs a energy source that will provide an abundant amount of energy but is also efficient. Nuclear power is a reliable and efficient source of energy that America can use. Fossil fuels and other resources used in the United States are running out or are very expensive. Nuclear power will provide a cost-effective, long-term power supply. America should use nuclear energy because of its many benefits, namely environmental benefits, economic benefits, safety, power generation, and reliability. Nuclear power is a potential energy source for America because of its many economic benefits. Nuclear power plants would create thousands of jobs and have low production costs. Davis writes in his article "The Necessary Good of Nuclear Power" that nuclear power has the lowest production cost at 2.14 cents per kilowatt hour. The construction of power plants will create between 1,400 and 1,800 jobs because they need workers who can use concrete, steel and other materials (9). Creating jobs in America will boost the economy, and because the cost of operating a power plant is low, plant owners can afford to keep them operating. Additionally, the jobs created by nuclear power plants cannot be sent to other countries and they generate millions of dollars. In the article "Energy at the center of the country's economic needs", the author claims that the construction of nuclear power plants creates jobs that cannot be sent abroad. Nuclear power plants also make $430 million a year, so they will be able to pay their workers good wages (Whitman 55). The United States has become very dependent on foreign resources and if in the middle of the article ......e "Benefits of Nuclear Energy" the author claims that fossil fuels are running out. Nuclear energy would be an interesting alternative. You can use uranium, plutonium or thorium to produce electricity in power plants (Naik 1). Unlike coal-fired power plants, which can only use coal as an energy source, nuclear power can use many elements. Although nuclear power has its advantages and disadvantages, it should be used more in the United States. If there were more power plants in America, it would save millions of dollars and create thousands of jobs for skilled workers. Nuclear power plants would also help save many habitats and the Earth. Nuclear power causes little or no pollution and does not need much land to build. Security continues to improve, allaying citizens' concerns. The power produced by nuclear energy is so great that it can power the entire world.
