George Frederick Handel was born on February 23, 1685. Handel showed his aptitude for music from his childhood. His father wanted him to become a lawyer so badly. To please his father, Handel went to law school but eventually dropped out to join an opera orchestra in Hamburg, Germany. He played in the orchestra as a violinist. In 1707 he began to study opera in Italy. Five years later he returned to Germany but soon went to England where he spent the rest of his life. He began composing for King George II. He then had a stroke and subsequently lost his sight. Bach also had the same thing. Handel died on April 14, 1759 and remained unmarried. Franz Joseph Haydn was born on March 31, 1732. Of all these composers, he is the last born. Like all other composers, Haydn grew up in a very musical family. At the age of six, he was sent to live with his uncle because he was very musical.
