Hardworking Americans everywhere are losing their jobs and I say it's high time the land of opportunity got its credit back. The loss of jobs in the United States has affected the economy in an extreme way due to the percentage of jobs lost, the bills and laws passed to resolve the dilemma, the conflict with reductions in hours for many Americans and difficulty finding a new career. Americans work hard every day, and after years of loyal labor, they are given a piece of paper and shown the door. Where is the decency in that? This economic downturn is taking an even worse turn and if it continues, America will find itself in another great depression. The percentages of job losses reach significant amounts and figures. According to the Bureau of Labor, last month the unemployment rate was 9.7 percent. This figure increases primarily in the construction industry because many Americans work for construction companies and when plans go wrong and projects are not built or completed, they begin to lose jobs (“Employment”). They also say the number of unemployed reached around 14.9 million last month and those who were out of work for 27 weeks or more numbered 6.1 million. Additionally, the number of people working part-time increased from 8.3 million to 8.8 million because many workers had their working hours reduced and they still had to earn a decent amount of money (“ Job "). The government is working hard to try to create new laws and bills that will help get American workers back on track. The Obama administration recently created a jobs bill or stimulus package that would help 1.6 million Americans return to or keep their current jobs. One critic, however...... middle of article......
