Essay / The Rise Of Hip Hop - 1042
McBride says: “In China, teenagers are painting graffiti on the Great Wall. In France, he was unfairly blamed for the worst civil unrest the country had seen in decades” (2, 7). Although it makes no sense, how can a genre of music be blamed for an act of violence and not have it be a decision the person made themselves. Hip hop is not meant to be listened to by young children, but due to our culture, all younger generations have been raised around it. It influences people, but it also doesn't make decisions for them, it's the way parents raise their children and common sense, not just a few words written in a song they listen to.
