Essay / Q Corporate Social Responsibility - 810
Even though there are concerns about theft and abuse, Q Company has a greater responsibility to all stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Donating one day's produce is an obvious route to gaining popularity and prestige within the community. Unless selling day-old products is a business objective, the organization must get rid of these products, regardless of the cost. Many businesses and industries do not enjoy public trust. This has been a recurring problem for decades. Every successful organization must be aware of this reality and must do whatever is necessary to excel. Q Company also claims that employee fraud and abuse pose a threat to lost profits. But Company Q is responsible for selecting employees at the hiring stage and the organization has the responsibility to establish a professional culture that employees can adopt. If a company can't trust its employees, some employees shouldn't be hired in the first place. Fraud and abuse seems like a good excuse for the company to throw away day-old products, but it is.
