Recent research studies have shown that there are several factors in a child's academic performance, such as parental time commitment and family economic situation. I want to understand if the family's economic situation has an impact on a child's academic performance. My hypothesis is that there is a correlation between children's academic performance and the economic situation of the family. This research is important because the correlation between family economic status and a child's academic performance demonstrates the detrimental impact on children from low-income families. Children are important because they are the future leaders. Many children will become national leaders or lawyers while others will become doctors who will nurture the next generation. The most apparent problem affecting children from low-income families today is low academic achievement. Every aspect of a child's life determines their success or failure. Therefore, we should be very concerned and involved. The correlation of these two aspects hampers children from low-income families. The importance of answering the research question allows us to determine whether or not there is a difference between children from low-income families and children from high-income families.
