The signing of the Declaration of Independence took place on July 4, 1776 in Philadelphia. Political leaders from the thirteen states meeting in Philadelphia's Independence Hall also reached agreement on a list of rules that would change the lives of every American and create a better future. I believe it is one of the most important events that has had the greatest impact on America. A total of fifty-five political leaders signed the Declaration of Independence, written by Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson was the man who took everyone's idea of what America should be and wrote it down. all the men involved in signing the Declaration of Independence were essentially signing to be hanged. they were going all out, if this document was not passed they would all die and America would never be able to move forward as the great nation it is today. If it passed, they all looked like geniuses and were all involved in developing America's future and declaring its freedom from Britain. The Declaration of Independence was a document that would help America declare its freedom from Great Britain. The declaration set out 27 amendments, all of which had a tremendous impact on America, but I think it was this article that had the greatest impact: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights. , that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I think this part of the article has the most value for the development of the Americas. it states that all men are created equal and have equal rights. this means that no matter your race or gender, you should have the same rights as everyone else in...... middle of paper...... recover, because most colonies had problems of their own money. they were forced to sign it because if they didn't they would have to help Britain cover its war expenses. If these 56 members of Congress did not come together at Independence Hall in Philadelphia and have the courage to risk their lives for the betterment of their own country to make America the best it can be, we would not be the great country we are today..
