    The thing that comes to mind most about Macalester College is the mission statement. Coming from the Gaza Strip and traveling to the United States as an exchange student for a year, I became very interested in cultures and diversity. Mac is heavily focused on multiculturalism and internationalism, which is exactly what I'm looking for. During my exchange year, besides growing as a person, I made so many friends from all over the world and learned a lot about their cultures. Mac has a very diverse student body and with all the organizations and clubs that connect these students together, it becomes a better place for me to continue my path of learning about these cultures and making more friends. Not to mention the solid academic knowledge offered by Mac, which will qualify me to become a scholar capable of changing the world. Back in my high school in the United States, I was placed in a small high school, my freshman class had less than 30 people in it.
